Today Clearwire and Sprint both made made it official with press releases officially announcing their 4G services will be coming to the Minneapolis market. This will include Shoreview and the Twin Cities metro area.
Here at the Shoreview Post we have been following the process of antennae site acquisitions for Clearwire over the past few months so this does not come as a surprise. Although not a surprise, the biggest news today is that Sprint will be selling the broadband service under their Sprint brand name and services in addition to the expected Clear service.
Eight markets including New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., Houston, the San Francisco Bay Area, Denver, Kansas City, and Minneapolis are expected to launch in 2010. The August, 2010 time frame still seems to be on schedule.
