Shoreview’s Seth Rosin earns All-Big Ten Second Team honors

Former Mounds View Mustang Seth Rosin of Shoreview pitches for the 2010 Big Ten Champion University of Minnesota Gophers baseball team. Seth is a junior this year and earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Second team for the second year in a row. Rosin finished the Big Ten regular season with a 7-4 record. He had a 4.74 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 87.1 innings pitched. Gopher coach John Anderson earned Big Ten Coach of the Year.
The Big Ten Champs kicked off their playoff tournament tonight with Rosin on the mound and a 10-8 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers. Rosin had a rough 3rd inning but hung in to battle through 7.2 innings on 127 pitches and earned the win. He gave up 7 earned runs on 10 hits and 2 walks while striking out 6.
The Gophers will take on the #2 seeded Michigan Wolverines on Friday and the winner of that will go on to play for the Big Ten Tournament championship game on Saturday.
