All Community Center annual memberships to include free guest passes

Starting February 1 of this year all active annual members of the Shoreview Community Center will receive between 3 and 8 free guest passes depending on the type of membership. To use these passes guests need to be accompanied by the member providing the complimentary pass. The guest passes will be kept track of electronically in the Community Center’s computer system when a member checks in at the desk with their membership card. The passes can be used anytime within the 1 year membership term.

Family memberships will receive 8 adult passes
Dual memberships will receive 6 adult passes
Adult memberships will receive 4 adult passes
Senior memberships will receive 3 adult passes
Youth memberships will receive 3 youth passes

Shoreview selects two new liquor providers for Community Center

The city of Shoreview has selected both Green Mill and Jimmy’s Conference & Catering to be providers of liquor at Community Center events. The current 3 year contract with the Big Ten Sports Bar is due to expire at the end of 2009 and the new agreements will begin in 2010.

It was decided to go with two providers in order to give people a choice of services for their events. Proposals were solicited from local area restaurants and they received proposals from Big Ten Sports Bar, Green Mill, and Jimmy’s Conference & Catering. Green Mill and Jimmy’s Conference & Catering were selected for their experience in catering events and a level of professionalism and service consistent with the banquet facilities at the Community Center. Drink prices will range from $4.00 to $6.75 with a 30% commission going to the city of Shoreview.

Shoreview also decided to change to a 2 year agreement instead of the 3 year agreements of the past. The two year agreement will allow more frequent evaluations of service and ensure that the quality of service is meeting the expectations of the customers.

Criminal sexual assult in Shoreview Community Center parking lot

According to the Friday October 30th Nixle Report by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department, an incident of Criminal Sexual Conduct took place at the Shoreview Community Center, 48xx Victoria Street – 8:30 p.m. on Saturday October 24th. A man assaulted 16 year old female as she got to her car in parking lot. She struggled with the suspect and got away. The suspect is a black male about 18 year old. He was wearing a dark shirt.

The following incidents were also reported.

Home Burglary – 48xx Churchill Street – between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. 10/27. No sign of forced entry. Laptop stolen.
Theft from Auto – Shoreview Community Center, 45xx Victoria Street – between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. 10/26. Passenger window broken out. Bowling bag, tie-dyed bowling shoes & change taken. Bag and one shoe recovered one block away.
Theft – Target, 38xx Lexington Avenue – 9:30 p.m. 10/26. 31 YO woman & 18 YO woman arrested for stealing clothing.
Criminal Damage to Property – 59xx St. Albans Street – between 9 p.m. 10/26 and 6:30 a.m. 10/27. BBQ sauce smeared on three cars’ windshields. Driver’s window broken out & front fender dented on one car.
