State Senator Sandy Rummel, SD53 DFL-White Bear Lake, and State Representative Paul Gardner, HD53A DFL-Shoreview, have scheduled two public meetings to discuss the state budget and hear citizens’ concerns and priorities for the 2010 legislative session. The first meeting is in Shoreview at the Community Center and the second meeting is at Lino Lakes City Hall, Community Room.
- Saturday, Feb. 6: 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
- Shoreview Community Center, Room 202/203
- 4580 Victoria Street North
- Shoreview, MN 55126
- Thursday, Feb. 11: 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
- Lino Lakes City Hall, Community Room
- 600 Town Center Parkway
- Lino Lakes, MN 55014
As cuts are very likely during the upcoming session, the town hall meetings with Sen. Rummel and Rep. Gardner will focus on the state’s budget and a discussion on how to solve the budget deficit now and in the long-term. Rep. Gardner and Sen. Rummel will be joined by several community leaders and area service providers who will discuss local impacts due to the budget deficit. This is also a chance for you to bring your legislative concerns and priorities to your state elected officials.
For more information about the meetings or for those interested in legislative activities that are not able to attend one of the meetings, please contact Sen. Rummel at (651) 296-1253 or sen.sandy.rummel@senate.mn, or Rep. Gardner at (651) 296-2907 or rep.paul.gardner@house.mn.
